About the Vennekretsen Lodge and the Sons of Norway

The Sons of Norway is made up of over 60,000 Norwegian and Norwegian-American men and women and more than 8,500 "unge venner" (young friends) youth members organized into 400 Lodges in 8 Districts in the United States, Canada and Norway.
The mission of Sons of Norway is to promote and preserve the heritage and culture of Norway and provide quality insurance and financial products to its members.

Vennekretsen Lodge 3-678, Atlanta, Georgia
Despite being a relatively young organization, strong headways have been made in establishing a solid foundation for a robust and healthy lodge. Sons of Norway headquarters have acknowledged our surprisingly strong start and interviewed Vennekretsen officers to ask us to report some of the elements of our success and growth.
These reports are being collected and printed in National Sons of Norway publications as inspiration for fledgling lodges across the country faced with stagnancy or modest growth. We are proud to hear that Vennekretsen has become a model for other new clubs to draw inspiration.

Our Mission - To unite the Norwegian community to share ideas and culture in order to strengthen family and social bonds and celebrate our Scandinavian heritage.
Our Vision - To make the Vennekretsen - Atlanta lodge fun, informative, supportive and interesting, helping it grow into a vibrant group that creates visibility and awareness of the Scandinavian culture in our local community.
On a larger scale, the Vennekretsen Lodge has expanded its sphere of influence and involvement in collaboration with the Scandinavian Community. Vennekretsen now has two of our members actively participating in the SAFG (Scandinavian American Foundation of Georgia) Board of Directors.
For the next two years Anita Winje has volunteered to serve as Board “Secretary on the SAFG board of officers. Erik Kind will serve as the Norway V.P. representing the Norwegian community’s interests. Should any of you in the Norwegian community have a program or event that you would like to see brought to Atlanta and presented to the public, please feel free to contact either of these officers who represent YOU.
