Helen Tronvold Norwegian Folk High School Scholarship

The Sons of Norway Foundation Helen Tronvold Norwegian Folk High School Scholarship, established in 2005, supports the Sons of Norway Foundation’s goal of providing cross-cultural experiences for youth.
Helen Tronvold remembered Sons of Norway youth with a special bequest in her will that is a major source of funding for this scholarship. The Sons of Norway Foundation Board of Directors will determine, on a yearly basis, the number of scholarships awarded. The monetary award of this scholarship will be $2,000 each.
Who is eligible?
Applicants must be current members of Sons of Norway or children or grandchildren of current members, between the ages of 18-23. They must have completed U.S. High School and be accepted by a specific Norwegian Folk High School.

How To Apply
Applications are available on our website at www.sonsofnowray.com/foundation. Applications are due March 1st of each year.
How Winners Are Selected
Final selection of scholarship winners will be made by the Sons of Norway Foundation scholarship committee.
The key criteria for selection are:
- Student’s statement of cross-cultural education goals
- Academic potential
- Letters of recommendation
- Essay
- Involvement in Sons of Norway or community activities
- Financial need

The Sons of Norway Foundation reserves the right to modify requirements. All applicants are encouraged to check the Foundation website, www.sonsofnorway.com/foundation November 1st of each year for the most current information.
