
Community and Community Service Activities at the Vennekretsen Lodge
Community Service reflects activities performed by local lodge volunteers on behalf of Sons of Norway which assist needy individuals or improve the community at large.
The following are examples of activities which fall within the meaning of "community
service:"
- Tubfrim in Norway
- blood drives
- scholarships to needy students (Currently offered through the Sons of Norway Foundation)
- Host an International High School Student from Norway
- Habitat for Humanity 'builds'
- collecting food and clothing for flood victims
- visits to nursing homes
- Arbor Day tree plantings
- recycling drives, and
- tutoring disadvantaged children
