2009 Vennekretsen-Atlanta Cookbook
When the idea was posed a couple months ago, we were surprised with the response. It was quick and immediate even though it was just in a laundry list of fundraising ideas. We decided to put that enthusiasm to good use.
Beginning immediately, we are accepting recipe ideas for inclusion in our first lodge cookbook. Our goal will initially be to get 100-150 recipes.
Break out those family recipes, those meals, snacks, desserts, breads and drinks. It’s time to share them with your friends. We are looking for all kinds of recipes. Ideally, they will all have some Norwegian Roots, but if not, just let us know and we’ll see if there’s room. If we get enough recipes without Norwegian roots, maybe we’ll just have to have 2 cookbooks… but let’s get through our first one before we jump into that.
Again, if you have a recipe of any sort, please feel free to submit it.
Submitting your recipe is easy.
- Fill in the online form below by cutting and pasting your recipe into the form fields.
- Send an e-mail to Cookbook@vennekretsen.com with the recipe type in the body or as an attachment
- Bring the Recipe to a lodge meeting and give them to Brad Thorson or another Lodge Officer who will ensure they get to Brad.
- Mail the Recipe to:

If you’d like to volunteer to work on the project, please let Brad know that as well. He will begin the process and select a vendor for the printing. He’ll be the one who initially collects recipes (by hand and monitoring the Cookbook@vennekretsen.com e-mail address), and turn everything over to a chairperson once one is selected.
